Child-Resistant Packaging (CR Packaging) is a type of packaging featuring a specially designed structure. Its primary design objective is to significantly reduce the possibility of children under the age of 5 opening the package and accessing its contents, while ensuring that adults (including the elderly) can open and use it with relative ease.
The core of its working principle lies in leveraging the common differences between children and adults in terms of cognitive ability, hand strength, and operational coordination. Specifically, it achieves its child-resistant function by incorporating "dual-action" or compound operational barriers, such as press-and-turn, squeeze-and-pull, push-then-pull, insert-and-lock mechanisms, and misalignment-resistant tear strips. These operations, which require a certain level of understanding and coordination, effectively create a barrier that is difficult for a child to overcome independently, thus fulfilling the design purpose of being child-resistant.
